The Enjoy Your Dog Reactive Dog Program

Where overwhelmed dogs learn to breathe again — and families rediscover hope.

Living with a reactive dog can feel isolating, stressful, or even discouraging. But reactivity isn’t a character flaw — it’s communication. At Enjoy Your Dog Training, we specialize in helping dogs who bark, lunge, growl, or shut down when the world feels too big. As importantly, we support the families who love them.

Our program is built on science, compassion, and a deep understanding of canine emotional health. And it’s designed to help you and your dog move from chaos to confidence, one thoughtful step at a time.

What Makes Our Program Different

  • The Foundation: How We Think About Behavior

The Foundation: How We Think About Behavior

    Emotional Safety Comes First
We don’t just stop the behavior — we address the emotion underneath it. Your dog learns how to feel safe, not how to hide their fear.

    Expertise You Can Trust
Our experience brings a level of behavioral insight that sets this program apart.

  • The Process: How We Teach

    The Process: How We Teach

    A Structured, Repeatable Progression
Our curriculum follows a clear, step-by-step path that builds skills gradually and respectfully.

    Real-World Skills That Transfer
We help dogs generalize their new skills in everyday environments — not just in a training room.

  • The Experience: How It Feels to Work With Us

    Support for the Whole Family
Reactivity affects everyone. We teach you how to read your dog’s signals, advocate for their needs, and create calmer routines at home and on walks.

    A Judgment-Free, Shame-Free Environment
Reactive dog families often feel misunderstood. Here, you’re welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

What You and Your Dog Will Learn

  • How to create calm through predictable routines

  • How to maintain safe distance from triggers

  • How to use alternative behaviors instead of reacting

  • How to recover quickly after surprises

  • How to communicate clearly and kindly

  • How to navigate the world with confidence

These aren’t quick fixes — they’re life skills.

Real Transformations Happen Here

Every reactive dog has a story.
Every family has a moment when things finally start to make sense.
And every team that completes this program leaves with:

  • A calmer, more confident dog

  • A deeper understanding of canine body language

  • Tools to prevent and de-escalate reactive moments

  • A predictable plan for walks and outings

  • Renewed joy in their relationship

Reactivity doesn’t define your dog — and it doesn’t define your future together.

Our Training Philosophy: Force-Free, Fear-Free, Always

Your dog’s emotional well-being matters just as much as their behavior. That’s why our Reactive Dog Program is built entirely on force-free, science-based training methods. We never use aversive tools — no prong collars, choke chains, e-collars, leash pops, intimidation, or fear-based techniques.

Why We Don’t Use Aversive Tools

Reactive dogs are already telling us they’re overwhelmed. Aversive tools may suppress the outward behavior, but they don’t address the underlying emotion — and often make it worse.

We avoid aversive methods because:

  • They increase fear, anxiety, and stress

  • They damage trust between dog and handler

  • They suppress communication instead of teaching skills

  • They can escalate aggression

  • They ignore the dog’s emotional needs

Your dog deserves to feel safe — not scared.

What We Use Instead

  • Emotional safety as the foundation

  • Predictable routines that reduce stress

  • Alternative behaviors that replace reactivity

  • Recovery skills for surprises

  • Supportive, relationship-centered training

  • Clear communication that builds confidence

When dogs feel safe, they learn.
When families feel supported, they thrive.
