Reactive Dog Class: Help for Big Feelings

If your dog struggles with big feelings, we can help!

Does your dog bark, lunge, or growl at other dogs while on leash? You’re not alone—and you’re not out of options. Our Reactive Dog Class is designed specifically for dogs who have a hard time staying calm around triggers like other dogs, people, or moving things.

We’ll teach you how to confidently manage those tough moments, and more importantly, how to help your dog learn new, more appropriate behaviors. That might mean focusing on you instead of the trigger, or calmly walking past instead of barking or reacting.

Because these behaviors are often rooted in fear, anxiety, or over-excitement, this course runs for 8 weeks instead of the typical 5. We believe that both you and your dog deserve the time and support to truly make progress.

🗓️ Important Note: The first class is a humans-only orientation. This session is essential to set you up for success, and typically runs at 7:00 PM, combining both class groups. If that time doesn’t work for you, just let us know—we’re happy to make alternate arrangements.

  • Understanding Reactivity

    Understanding Reactivity

Reactivity isn’t a behavior problem—it’s an emotional one. Whether your dog is barking out of fear, anxiety, frustration, or sheer excitement, we’ll help you uncover what’s really going on under the surface. By addressing the root cause of the behavior, not just the symptoms, you’ll build a stronger, more trusting relationship with your dog.

  • Management + Training Tools

    Management + Training Tools

This class gives you the real-life tools to manage your dog safely in triggering situations and to train new, more appropriate responses. You’ll learn when to step in with smart handling techniques, how to create space when needed, and how to teach your dog alternative behaviors like focusing on you or calmly moving away.

  • Progress, Not Perfection

    Progress, Not Perfection

We know that working through reactivity takes time, which is why our program runs for 8 weeks instead of the standard 5. You’ll have the space to go at your dog’s pace, celebrate small wins, and receive ongoing support from an experienced instructor who understands what you’re going through. The first week is a people-only orientation, giving you a chance to ask questions, learn the approach, and start with confidence.
